It looks as though the cabaret club will make an appearance as well.

Prime Video has released the official trailer for Like a Dragon: Yakuza, offering a peek at the new live-action adaptation of SEGA's popular video game series. It looks as though we'll get to see a lot of the beat em' up action that the games are known for.

Not to be confused with Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the six-episode action series follows Japanese gangster Kiryu Kazuma (Kamen Rider's Takeuchi Ryoma) in both 1995 and 2005. In 1995, Kiryu and his friends plan a heist which puts them in the path of the Dojima Family, a powerful yakuza organisation who run Kamurocho's underworld. The heist probably doesn't go all that well, considering that ten years later Kiryu is being released from prison. Even so, it seems his violent days are still far from over, with Kiryu returning to Kamurocho to protect his friends after learning that they are in danger.

It isn't clear whether Like a Dragon: Yakuza will include some of the famously weird and humorous elements which make the games so unique. However, judging from a quick shot of two women in formal attire, it looks as though the fan-favourite cabaret club minigame will at least get a shout out. Fingers crossed we'll also get to see Kiryu trying every single tonkatsu joint in the city.

Like a Dragon: Yakuza arrives Oct. 24 on Prime Video.
