This Monday, Futurama Season 12 draws to a close with the finale episode "Otherwise." In the above clip from that episode, Fry prepares to propose to Leela on a balcony, atop a tall tower, complete with champagne, a big diamond ring, and a vampire named János. But that all feels really familiar, right?

While Leela is awed by the romantic gestures, Fry is freaked out by déjà vu. Maybe because this scenario was set up in Season 10, episode 13, "Meanwhile."

In that ep from 2013, Fry had this same lovey-dovey layout, only to fall off the tower's balcony before Leela could arrive. But thanks to some time-loop tech, he didn't die. He did, however, freeze time for all but the two of them, making the whole wide, time-struck world their personal paradise for decades.

Once serving as the show's finale (the fourth for the oft-canceled series), "Meanwhile" is beloved by fans for finally paying off the love that bloomed between Fry and Leela. But at the end of that particular episode, the Professor appeared from a wormhole to offer them a chance to go back — and they took it. What does this mean for "Otherwise"?

We'll find out when Futurama's Season 12 finale hits Hulu on Sept. 30.
