NASA recently discovered a seven-planet solar system called Trappist-1 that is seemingly capable of having water, oxygen, and, yes, life. So your dreams of living out E.T in IRL are not as crazy as you thought. Mind blown.

Trappist-1 is a casual 39 light years away from us, so chances are you won’t be traveling to it anytime soon. Bummer, right? Well, a brand called Xeric created a watch that brings inter-galaxy travel straight to you. After a successful launch on Kickstarter, the Trappist-1 Moonphase Watch is now officially available for purchase.

Made with Hesalite, an extremely durable material initially designed for NASA astronauts, the Trappist-1 Watch marries form and function that is seriously out of this world (pun intended). The large Cupola grille that hangs over the dial explores the relationship between time and space, as distant planets slowly make their way around.

Xeric traded in traditional watch hands for two Super-LumiNova planets that display the hours and minutes, as well as a Super-LumiNova North Star for a 12-hour indicator. Available in four neutral colorways, this timepiece is complete with a handsome leather strap, making it super classic looking on the outsider (and super nerdy on the inside).

The Trappist-1 Moonphase Watch may be for a specific group of people — think space fanatics — but don’t write it off as a gimmick. When Xeric launched the watch on Kickstarter, it raised over $372,000 — nearly 15 times more than its pledge goal.
